4th Generation Family-Owned Farm
L.J. Betts Farm has been family-run for four generations since it was founded in 1930 by Laurence John Betts. His son Stewart carried the business forward, followed by Stephen Betts, who led the farm for over 45 years.
In 2023, leadership passed to Marion Regan (née Betts) and Jon Regan, keeping the business within the extended family. Though ownership has shifted, the Betts legacy remains firmly rooted in the farm’s direction and values.
ABOUT L.J. Betts
L.J. Betts Ltd is a longstanding family-owned farm situated at Church Farm in Offham, near West Malling,

the company specializes in the production of leafy salads and cereals, including whole head lettuces, baby leaf mixes, multi-leaf salads, and its own branded Betts Boxes. The farm is renowned for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation in farming practices.

In 2023, the Regan family, owners of Hugh Lowe Farms Ltd (a neighboring berry-growing business) and Blaise Plants Ltd (a plant propagator), acquired L.J. Betts Ltd. This acquisition ensured the continuation of the Betts family's legacy within the wider family ownership, with Marion Regan becoming Managing Director and Jon Regan serving as Chairman. Stephen Betts, who had led the company for over 45 years, transitioned to a consultancy role, maintaining the company's strong ties to its founding principles .
